I did this piece with markers on layout paper — something I haven’t done in a long time. It’s also in a style of illustration that I worked on while I was in college. It was fun to do something different! The artwork is silk-screened onto water-slide transfer paper and then fired in the kiln (a total of 3 firings for this piece!).

- Ian Phillips grew up in the far north of Canada and has participated in a multitude of winter sports, including: skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice-fishing, tobogganing, figure-skating, ice-hockey and harpoon-toss. His favorite holiday is the Winterlude and he hopes one day to meet the Bonhomme.
